600 Gallon Easy Lawn & Trailer - A BARGAIN

(1/3) > >>

Turboguy:
We just took a 600 Gallon Easy Lawn with trailer in on trade today.  We like to stick to selling our own brand so we are willing to sell it as is before we put any time into it at a bargain price.  It basically seems like it is in pretty good shape.  The paint is a little faded.  It needs a new valve handle on the discharge line.  This is a 13 H.P. Briggs engine with recoil start and the rope on the starter is broken but tied together.  The customer tells me the last time he ran it it started and ran fine and as far as he told me the pump is fine.  This comes with an Easy Lawn Trailer but there is no title for it.  It came in on trade from Ohio and they just buy tags there and don't use titles.  The trailer wiring needs some work.

If we spent a day working on it and slapped a little paint on it, fixed the rope and handle I have no doubts we could sell it for around 5 grand.   I would like to move this.  I will sell this unit for less than I have in it if we don't have to do anything to it.  This would be a great buy for someone new who wants to get into hydroseeding.

Turbo,

You may not want to sell that unit as a Hydroseeder but more as a spray tank. Being that I have 3 EasyLawn machines I can tell you that 13.5 HP engine on that 600 gallon tank really isnt powerful enough to do any quality seeding or feeding for that matter. I own a 600 and that tank is large and demands some power to make the slurry roll of which that engine will have a hard time with. I would imagine the previous owner bought one of yours with a larger HP motor because they dealt with some issues. Anyways all a buyer would have to do is change out the hose using down couplers to make it a spray unit.

To offer you a little perspective...My small unit is at 350 and has a 13.5 HP (either the Briggs or Robin Subaru) and that little unit can handle the volume quite well though I would prefer a larger HP for the materials I use. On my 600 there would be no way I could have done any quality work without my 18 HP Robin powering it. The 600 was my very first machine and I was told by the extremely knowledgeable salesman that I shouldnt go any lower then the 18 HP... After all the work Ive done with that machine I am glad I listened because having gone smaller would have shackled me!

Just thought I might share my experience and knowledge... I love all 3 of my machines but be it TT or EL that one buys... the proper power is vitally important if one wants to do quality work and make a solid reputation.

Hope this helps...

Regards,

I'd like to have the trailer to put my 750XPW on if someone just wants to buy the seeder!! Keep me in mind, I'm almost ready for my new seeder!!

Erik,

Thanks for the feedback.   The customer had two Turbo Turf's before the Easy Lawn and debated between the 13 H.P. and the 18 H.P. engines on his new 500 and went with the 18.   The 13 H.P. on our mixes fine but of course the 18 mixes better.  We are of course mixing 100 gallons less material too.

I think my customers comments and yours are pretty compatable but don't like to say anything about competitors.

Bill, I don't think I would have any problem selling the trailer seperately so when you are ready we can talk about it.

Epic Manufacturing:
Maybe it's time I chime in here...I'd hate for Ray to have to "say anything about competitors".  We market the TM60-3R as a tacking machine with the capability of doing light duty hydroseeding.  We would not recommend it to a contractor considering hydroseeding as a prime source of revenue.  We offer multiple pump/engine options on our 600 gallon machines and we try to find the perfect match for our customers based on their needs.  Unfortunately, some customers choose to purchase units that aren't ideally suited for their needs in an effort to save money.  I'd be happy to discuss the merits of this machine with anyone considering purchasing it.

Thanks,
