NYS Law Restricts Use of Phosphorus Lawn Fertilizers
« on: April 12, 2012, 05:44:42 PM »
This law took effect Jan. 1, 2012:

http://lawntolake.org/PDFs/NY_lawresphos.pdf

Does not pertain to new lawn establishment...does pertain if you were to overseed an existing lawn.  Local laws can make stricter rules governing the use of Phosphorus, or anything else for that matter!

Here is a link for water withdrawl in NYS:

From what I see this would be allot of Hydro-seeding!

The Maine DOT restricted use of Phosphorus in fertilizer on state work about 12 years ago. The new fert with 10% P works ok and jobs seeded with that mix have done ok in the long term. So far as far as hydroseeding that is the only place there is restrictions although some towns have there own rules especially when seeding near water.
