Mounting a T120
« on: April 08, 2012, 09:43:11 PM »
We have purchased a hooklift truck to mount our T120 on.  We have three options that I'm kicking around. First we have been quoted on a heavy duty flat bed and a standard flatbed and I'm not sure which I would need. Typically I would go with the bigger the better but weight is an issue and the price is 3,000 vs almost 6,000. The spec for the regular flatbed is 3/16" main rails, 3" c channel rails 10ga floor ,10ga bulkhead, 24" o/c cross members. The heavy duty is 1/4 main rails ,1/4 outside rails,3/16 floor,3/16 headboard , 16 o/c crossmembers. My last option is to throw in a subframe for 750 bucks and save a lot of money and weight. The guy is not sure what I need for my application. I really don't ever see myself needing to load or unload full of material but he did say if that was the case stay on the safe and go heavy duty. Also anyone know of any companies   knowledgeable in the sale of these hooklift bodies in Northeast area.

I personally would go heavy duty. A truck with a loaded seeder works hard. Under normal driving conditions the frame bends and twists as you go down the road, around corners etc. Do any work off rd and all that action is multiplied by 2 or more. Be sure the truck has plenty of front and rear axle weight. If you use Finns center of gravity # for a T 120 and adjust it a little for the hook lift you should be ok. We have several customers with machines on hook lifts. I will try to contact them and see who or where they got their lifts from.
