T330 recirculation Valve replacement
« on: Mon October 11, 2021, 03:25:43 PM »
Has anyone ever replaced the 1 1/4 inch recirculation valve with a brass valve?  If so any tips?  The replacement Finn 1 1/4 inch valve is close to $700.00.

I have no experience with a Finn but I would think it should work just fine.  I think I need to raise my valve pricing.  We are about 10% of that for a stainless steel valve.

Thanks.  I think that Finn went with valves that handle everything from water to flammable liquids.  In the process, they've added a maintenance nightmare.  Even when lubing the valves with the wax sticks (yes they need lube); if the valves are left unused for more than around 3-months (off-season), you may need to pull the valve, get a torch, and start heating everything up to break the valve lose.

Oh, that sounds like fun.  I am not sure why a valve would need to be that complicated.  I have not heard of anyone hydroseeding with flammable materials.

The recirc valve is not complicated at all. It is on off. Yes it needs to be lubed with wax pills but very easy to do. If it has been properly lubed i let my machine sit all winter and the valve would work in the spring. Both the spray valve and the recirc valve can be taken apart and cleaned. I did my spray valve at least once during the season
