2013 finn t60
« on: Sun October 21, 2018, 11:43:49 AM »
Good morning all.  I just purchased a Finn T60 with a Kohler 23.5.  I have used it a few times as a rental and decided to buy it.  After a job yesterday, when I was cleaning out, it stopped pumping and made a loud screeching noise.  I believe it is the clutch and if so, how hard is it to repair myself? Or is this something I should take to a dealer and hope it doesn't cost a ransom to have fixed?  The machine is a little beat up, but has worked well so far.  Not sure where to get parts for it.  When I go to the Finn site, I am directed to dealers in my area and there are different random sites online that say they sell Finn parts, but have not been able to find anything.  Any advice would be great.  This is the first Finn I have owned and once it pays for itself, I will probably upgrade to a T75.  Also I would like to find out where to get a parts manual for this machine.  I have looked online and come up empty so far.  Thanks to all

Ask the Finn Guy.  He won't charge you for asking for advice and that is what this forum site is all about.

I have a T60 Finn manual and will email it to you or overnight.  Will be able to confirm tomorrow!  By the way, have you greased every fitting?

Check to see if something fell into the tank and got stuck in the pump.
The pump shaft should turn freely by hand.
I agree with Teddy, be sure to grease the fittings, be sure to look for the "service daily" points as well and keep the grease cup on the pump housing full of a sodium base grease outlined in the manual.

I am not as up on service for a Finn but it does sound to me like something may have got stuck in the pump.  I would think that a clutch would either slip or smoke.  If it is the clutch my non expert opinion is that it would probably be better to have a dealer do the repair but that depends on how handy you are.

Sorry, thought I responded to this quite a while ago, but I must not have completed the post.  I'm guessing the problem has long been resolved, but please contact me if you still need assistance and I'll point you in the right direction.
